With all of the media attention regarding anxiety and depression today, it is no wonder these words have developed a negative connotation.  Feeling anxious or depressed unpleasant, to say the least.  But what can make anxiety or depression even more unbearable is that many people suffer alone and in silence, usually because of fear, shame or confusion.  You are not alone!  Please do not suffer in silence any longer.

Depression affects approximately 14.8 million American adults or about 6.7 percent of the US Population age 18 or older in a given year.  (Archives of General Psychiatry, 2005 Jun; 62(6):617-27).

Anxiety Disorders affect 40 million adults in the United States age 18 and older (18.1% of the US Population).  (Anxiety Disorders Association of America).
